viDoctor is a project created to help bridge the local doctors to the patients in need.
Every year a lot of people lose their lives simply because they do not have access to proper healthcare. This is why we want to provide them with some help through this web app we made to give them the connection to hospitals and even if they are in remote areas of the world.
Using viDoctor, patients can search for hospitals around them in a radius of their choosing, and find information about this hospital. If they decide that they want help from this hospital, they can choose a doctor available for contact and set up a video call with them for virtual help.
We split up the processes into frontend, getting the hospital list, and simulating the video call between the doctor and the patient and each work on a different section. Afterwards, we connect our code to each other.
We had a lot of problems setting up the video call system and getting hospital list from the map because this is a new experience for us.
While it was a struggle at first to figure out what we need to do to get the video simulation working due to our inexperience in this part, we eventually got them running through trial and errors, which we think is quite a nice thing to be done.
We had most of our troubles in getting the video call to work, which was the hardest part and took most of our time. Fortunately, we managed to overcome it and finish our wonderful app
The next parts of our plan is to get more hospitals to cooperate with us for information to help the patients as well as spreading our app throughout the world, because there are many places where medical care is not adequate for people's needs and they can die from otherwise curable diseases
We built it using the React app and Twilio
